STK: The Stormwater Toolkit

Our toolkit is a pamphlet hosting a checklist of what every city should have on their website. From general information on stormwater to external links and images, our toolkit provides everything on a stylish PDF. The toolkit is not limited to cities, but its residents too. The intricate data and statistics on stormwater pollution is translated into a PDF that anyone can easily read.

Improve Your City’s Website

Simply download our PDF with HTML code integrable on every site. By providing cities with our code, we hope to streamline the integration and ultimately provision of information on stormwater for all residents.

Cities can simply copy the code found in our PDF and paste it into the HTML field on the page(s) they choose. Cities will also be able to integrate our code into Division Elements on their site given their CSS styling allows for it.

Sunnyvale Loves Rain

The city of Sunnyvale is extremely proactive when it comes to protecting our water quality. Sunnyvale is within the boundary of the Sunray Creek watershed. Nearly all of the surrounding land drains into the nearby creeks which then makes its way into the Pacific Ocean via Sunray lagoon. To improve water quality standards Sunnyvale uses creek monitoring devices which constantly feed back creek level information, which is accessible to the public. To help restore, protect, preserve, and enhance the quality of the surrounding bodies of water there is the placement of the Water Quality Improvement Master Plan (WQIMP). On a daily basis, Sunnyvale is striving to maintain high water quality and compliance with the federal government MS4 regulatory permits and standards to keep the water of our city high and pollution at a minimum.

Drain Rain, Go Away

Stormwater is rain that falls onto streets, rooftops, and other surfaces which then drains into the gutters, making its way to rivers, lakes, and other main bodies of water. Along the way it picks up large amounts of pollution containing chemicals from industrial use, pesticides from gardening, waste, trash, and other household chemicals. Stormwater and stormwater pollution can very easily contaminate drinking water, ocean water, and marine life.

Proper Permits

Please check this guide to see if your facility is in need of a stormwater regulation permit.

Specifics

This PDF includes details on permits and stormwater regulation.
