Stormwater 5K

What better way to support water pollution research than a run along the LA River. On March 21st, 2017, adults and youths can partake in the first annual 5K LA River Walk or Run to raise money for industrial stormwater compliance research. All proceeds from the event will go toward the UCLA Stormwater Compliance Team, whose goal is to ensure safe drinking and swimming water for all of LA County by holding cities and industries responsible for pollution.

The race will start at 8am at Bow Tie Parcel and continue down the river with live music along the entire route. Racers and supporters alike should be excited for a silent auction at the finish line, as well as informational exhibits about the dangers of stormwater runoff, what is being done to prevent the pollution caused by this runoff, and what more can be done to keep LA County water bodies free of pollutants.
